  • What diagnostic services are available at The Frist Clinic?
    • Answer: The Frist Clinic offers an arrray of diagnostic testing services including: bone densitometry, ultrasound, treadmill, elctrocardiogram (EKG), continuous glucose monitoring, Holter and event monitoring, nuclear cardiac imaging, x-ray, and laboratory services.
  • How do I refill a prescription?
    • Answer: Call our main number at 615-342-5900 and select option 3. Have your prescription bottle(s) handy for reference and answer 8 automated questions. Prescription refill requests received before 4:00 P.M. are filled before the end of that business day.
  • How do I get a referral from my primary care physician (PCP) for a specialist visit?
    • Answer: Generally, only HMO and POS insurance plans require PCP referrals. To request a specialist referral, call our main number at 615-342-5900 and select option 4 for referrals. Same-day referrals are difficult to process so please call in advance. Remember, referrals are often limited to a specific timeframe and number of visits so monitor your specialist visits as closely as possible.

    • Answer: Patients are asked to pay all copayments, coinsurance, and/or outstanding balances at the time of service. We have on-site patient service representatives to assist with with your bill or to make payment arrangements.
  • What is a Medicare "Waiver" form?
    • Answer: A Medicare waiver, also known as an ABN (Advance Beneficiary Notice) is a form Medicare beneficiaries may be asked to sign prior to receiving certain diagnostic services or procedures. Medicare has deemed certain tests as "medically unnecessary" if there is no "approved" diagnosis present. Medicare requires physicians to have patients acknowledge,in advance,that these services may not be covered and to accept full financial responsibility in the event Medicare does not pay.
